Operating Engineers – Cygnet Training Center
The Operating Engineers teaches men and women to become skilled heavy equipment operators – and in Northwest Ohio, the Cygnet Training Center is one of the best at training operating engineers in the country!
Apprentices at Cygnet learn the craft through on-the-job training and classroom instruction, earning wages while acquiring important skills. Upon successful completion of the training program, the apprentice becomes a journeyperson, and is qualified to perform the work of the trade on a daily basis while earning full pay.
The Ohio Operating Engineers Apprenticeship & Training Fund, in conjunction with O.E. Union Local 18, offers a variety of training curriculum at Cygnet, located just south of Bowling Green, for apprentices and journeypersons. The following are some of the programs available:
• Forklift Operation
• Grader Operation
• Crane Operation
• Directional Drilling
• Haz-Mat Handling
• Laser Operation
• Asphalt Installation
• CDL Instruction
• First Aid/ CPR Certification
